Gujarat High Court Examines Clashes During Ram Navami Processions

Ahmedabad - The Gujarat High Court is reviewing a case involving minor and major clashes that occurred during Ram Navami processions across various cities in the state. The petitioner has raised concerns about the police's handling of such incidents during religious events.

The petition specifically mentions disputes that took place in Wadali, Chhatral, Himmatnagar, Khambhat, Petlad, Vadodara, and Una, arguing that the lack of adequate arrangements contributed to the riots. The petitioner has also questioned the increasing frequency of such incidents in the state.

During the Ram Navami processions, incidents of stone-pelting were reported in two different areas of Vadodara, while sporadic clashes occurred in Wadali, Chhatral, Himmatnagar, Khambhat, Petlad, and Una. The petitioner alleges that inadequate police deployment during religious events, such as rallies and processions, has led to these disturbances. As the case unfolds, the Gujarat High Court will examine the police's role in managing and preventing clashes during religious events.
