CM Bhupendra Patel Praises All-Inclusive 2024-25 Union Budget

Ahmedabad – Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed strong support for the 2024-25 Union Budget introduced by the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised the budget for its inclusive nature and vision for a developed India, highlighting its focus on the poor, youth, farmers, and women empowerment.

Patel emphasized the government's commitment to 'Gyan' (knowledge) and all-around development. The budget allocates Rs 2 lakh crore to enhance youth skills, launching five new schemes for 4.1 crore youth. These initiatives aim to foster employment, self-employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation, providing a new direction for the country's youth.

The Chief Minister noted the budget's positive impact on Gujarat's industries, particularly the MSME sector, which is crucial for the state's industrial growth. Special provisions for MSMEs and labor-intensive production units, along with a credit guarantee scheme and machinery loans without collateral, are expected to boost the sector.

Highlighting the agricultural sector, Patel welcomed the initiative to connect 1 crore farmers to natural farming within five years, benefiting Gujarat's farmers. The National Cooperative Policy will further bolster the rural economy, aligning with the 'Sahkar se Samriddhi' (prosperity through cooperation) mantra.

Patel also applauded the Employment Linked Incentive schemes with the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), which will promote job creation in the manufacturing sector, offering numerous employment opportunities for Gujarat's youth. A comprehensive skilling program aims to train 20 lakh youth over the next five years.

The Chief Minister appreciated the plan to upgrade 1,000 ITIs and the construction of 3 crore new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which will provide homes for millions of poor citizens. The budget also increases the Mudra Loan limit from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The central government's initiative to provide internships to 1 crore youth in top 100 companies over five years, with an internship allowance and training cost coverage under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund, received commendation from Patel.

Additionally, the reduction in import duty on gold, silver, and platinum will benefit Gujarat's gems and jewellery industry. Provisions for raw diamonds are set to enhance the diamond cutting and polishing sector, further boosting the state's economy.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel concluded by emphasizing that the 2024-25 Union Budget paves a clear path for India's development, reflecting a commitment to inclusive growth and prosperity for all.
