Surat Residents Plagued by Stray Dogs in Local Garden
Complaints to Municipal Corporation remain unaddressed, leaving park-goers in fear
Surat - Rani Shanti Garden in the City Light Area has become a source of concern for local residents as an increasing number of stray dogs terrorize park-goers. Despite complaints to the Municipal Corporation, no action has been taken to address the issue, leaving the community feeling helpless.
In recent times, dog bite incidents have surged in the city, prompting Surat Mayor Hemaliben to discuss the possibility of capturing the dogs. However, the situation on the ground seems to be unchanged, with park-goers continuing to report dog-related problems.
Frequent visitors to Rani Shanti Garden have expressed their frustration and fear, as 10 to 12 dogs consistently occupy the walking ramp, often chasing and biting pedestrians. This has resulted in women and children avoiding the park altogether, significantly reducing the number of visitors.
Locals lament that the once-popular garden has become a dangerous and uninviting place, with an abundance of stray dogs creating an atmosphere of filth and aggression. They call on the Municipal Corporation to take swift action to restore safety and cleanliness to the public space.
