Surat Takes Action to Ease Traffic Congestion

In an effort to address the ongoing traffic congestion in Surat, the city police and the municipal corporation have intensified their collaboration. A coordination meeting was recently held to discuss the implementation of traffic signals and other traffic management measures within the Surat Municipal Corporation area.

Following the meeting, the police directed the municipal corporation to make 40 traffic circles smaller and to remove 139 speed breakers across the city. Additionally, 20 circles were completely removed while the remaining 20 were reduced in size. These changes were made to streamline traffic flow and minimize disruptions.

The introduction of traffic signals in Surat has become a contentious issue, as residents and the system face several challenges. To tackle this, traffic signals have been installed, but their implementation has led to increased congestion in some areas, causing concern among citizens.

The municipal corporation and police have taken strict actions to mitigate these problems, including the redesign of traffic circles and the removal of problematic speed breakers on four major roads.

The ultimate impact of these measures on Surat’s traffic situation remains to be seen, but authorities are hopeful that these steps will lead to significant improvements. The effectiveness of the new traffic signal system and the redesigned traffic infrastructure will be closely monitored in the coming months.
