CM Bhupendra Patel Approves Rs 1470 Crore for Road Upgradation

Gandhinagar – Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has given in-principle approval for an allocation of Rs 1470 crore to upgrade and strengthen roads connecting industrial and mining areas in Gujarat. This significant investment aims to develop the state's road infrastructure, ensuring smoother traffic and better transportation facilities.

The Chief Minister has adopted a positive approach by considering the needs of the Industry and Mines Department in consultation with them. This project is expected to improve the connectivity of cities, towns, and villages linked to these industrial and mining areas.

A government spokesperson highlighted that the state has seen extraordinary industrial growth due to large-scale industries arriving, inspired by the Vibrant Global Summit initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In line with the Prime Minister's vision of promoting 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat,' CM Patel has increased the financial allocation for the road sector by over 80 percent in the past two years.

Under this allocation, 83 km of roads will be widened to four lanes, 173 km to 10 meters, and 432 km will be strengthened. Additionally, necessary widening and strengthening of bridges and cross-drainage structures will be undertaken. Flyovers will also be constructed as per the detailed project report (DPR) requirements. The focus will also include strengthening and widening rural roads connecting industrial and mining areas across North, Central, South, Kutch, and Saurashtra regions.
