Surat Mayor Fund Distributes Rs 1.11 Crore to Needy Patients

Surat, July 16: Financial assistance totaling Rs 1.11 crore was provided to 498 needy patients today from the Mayor Relief Fund of the Surat Municipal Corporation. These patients, from poor and middle-class backgrounds, had undergone treatment in various private hospitals across the city. The assistance was distributed according to the policy rules of the Municipal Corporation.

In the Mayor Fund meeting held on July 1, Rs 1.11 crore in assistance was approved for 498 beneficiaries. This marks the fastest distribution of financial aid from the Mayor Fund Committee, with the funds reaching the beneficiaries just 15 days after the meeting.

Today, Mayor Daksheshbhai Mavani, Deputy Mayor Dr. Narendrabhai Patil, Chairman of the Standing Committee Rajanbhai Patel, members of the Mayor Fund Committee, and presidents of various committees distributed financial assistance cheques to the beneficiaries at Sardar Khand of Surat Municipal Corporation.

During the event, Mayor Daksheshbhai Mavani highlighted the significant relief provided by the Mayor Relief Fund to those in need, reaffirming the municipality's dedication to supporting the poor and middle-class citizens. Deputy Mayor Dr. Narendrabhai Patil added that the Mayor Fund Committee has strived to deliver assistance promptly and will continue to aid the needy in the future.
