KP Oli Appointed Prime Minister of Nepal, Oath on Monday

Kathmandu - In the wake of Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda's' government failing to secure a vote of confidence in Parliament on Friday, President Ramchandra Poudel has appointed KP Sharma Oli, the President of CPN (UML), as the new Prime Minister of Nepal. Oli, who is taking the position for the fourth time, will be sworn in at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace on Monday.

A statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan Sheetal Niwas confirmed Oli's appointment under Section 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 11 am, as announced by Dr. Suresh Chalise, the President's Chief Advisor. Key political figures, MPs, party leaders, security chiefs, the Chief Justice, the Chief of Army Staff, and all government secretaries have been invited to the event.

The coalition government of CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress has nearly finalized the list of ministers and their respective departments. Prominent positions include Prakashman Singh of Nepali Congress and Vishnu Paudel from CPN (UML) as Deputy Prime Ministers. Ramesh Lekhak will head the Home Ministry, while Vishnu Paudel will take on the dual role of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister. Arju Rana Deuwa will serve as the Foreign Minister, and Prakashman Singh will also handle the Physical Infrastructure Ministry.

In the 275-member House of Representatives, CPN (UML) holds 79 seats and Nepali Congress has 88 seats. Prachanda's party, CPN (MK), has 32 members. The new coalition government aims to bring stability and progress to Nepal after the previous administration's failure to maintain confidence.
