Hathras Stampede: Six individuals nabbed, ?1 lakh reward issued for main offender: UP Police

Aligarh, 4 July (HS): Shalabh Mathur, the Aligarh Inspector General of Police, said on Thursday that six persons were detained following a stampede at a religious gathering in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras.

The Aligarh IG further added that a reward of ?1 lakh has been issued for the apprehension of the main offender, Prakash Madhukar. The death toll is at 121. All bodies have been identified, and the post-mortem procedure is complete, according to Mathur. When the rush ensued, the six 'Sevadars' who are now detained fled the scene.

He further stated that the six apprehended suspects consists of four males and two women. Rahbari Singh Yadav, Bhupendar Singh Yadav, Megh Singh, Manju Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, and Manju Devi have all been detained. They are all members of the organizing committee and served as 'Sevadars'. As soon as the tragedy was reported, all of the Hathras district cops arrived on time and assisted the injured. Given the people's schedule, the key tasks include thorough organization, parking arrangements, prasad for the people, and so on.

Earlier today, Uttar Pradesh Police raided the Ram Kutir Charitable Trust in Mainpuri in pursuit of 'Bhole Baba', a self-proclaimed godman who held a 'satsang' in Hathras where the stampede occurred.
