Web Designer Arrested for Stealing Passenger's Handbag at IGI Airport
Bag contained iPhone, laptop, and foreign currency
New Delhi : A web designer and restaurant business owner, Hari Garg, has been arrested for stealing another passenger's handbag containing an iPhone, laptop, and foreign currency while deboarding a flight at Delhi's IGI airport. The incident was reported by Surender Singh, a resident of Dehradun, who alleged that an unknown passenger on the same flight took his handbag from the cabin.
After scanning CCTV footage of the terminals, the police apprehended Garg, who was seen carrying Singh's handbag. During interrogation, Garg revealed that he had intentionally taken the handbag while deboarding, had dumped the passport, credit, and debit cards, and had taken the bag to Jodhpur to use for his personal use. He had left Jodhpur but was apprehended from his residence in Jodhpur after electronic surveillance. The remaining articles, including the iPhone and laptop, were recovered from his home. The police have registered an e-FIR in this case.
