New Delhi - Kapil Dev, the former Indian cricket legend, has been unanimously elected as the President of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). Kapil, who joined the PGTI board in 2021 and has served as its Vice President, succeeds HR Srinivasan.
At 65, Kapil Dev expressed optimism about the future of Indian professional golf. "Indian professional golfers have been performing exceptionally well in recent years. Our tour is robust, and we aim to further strengthen it in the coming years," he said.
One of the standout events in the PGTI calendar is the Kapil Dev Grant Thornton Invitational Tournament, a prestigious golf event with a prize pool of Rs 2 crore (approximately $240,000).
