Bhukia-Jagpura mine will open new doors of revenue in Rajasthan
Jaipur, June 25 (HS): Along with spewing gold, the state's first gold mine will open new doors of industrial investment, employment and revenue in Rajasthan. With the auction of mining lease of Bhukia-Jagpura, the state government will receive ?500 crore in three installments as upfront payment along with the auction, the first installment of which will be received in 15 days in the form of ?100 crore.
Mine Secretary Anandi said that after the start of mining work in this gold mine, according to rough estimates, in the next 50 years, the state government is likely to get revenue of Rs one lakh crore in the form of premium, royalty, DMFT, NMET etc. Only from gold mining and processing, about 50 thousand youth will get employment directly and indirectly in the state.
The Mines Department started the e-auction process on March 6 for the state's first gold mines in Banswara's Bhukia Jagpura and Kankaria-Gara. Bidders placed bids on May 16 for mining lease and on May 17 for composite license. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, 65.30 percent premium has been received in the successful auction of the first gold mine in the state.
Mines Secretary Anandi said that along with gold, other co-minerals like copper, cobalt, nickel etc. will also be obtained from these gold mines. This will develop unprecedented opportunities for direct and indirect employment along with new investments in many industries including aerospace, electronics, air bags along with the jewellery industry in the state. New investments in industries related to co-minerals in the state will develop huge opportunities for revenue and direct-indirect employment.
Anandi said that in the tender process conducted for the mining lease of Bhukia Jagpura Gold Mines, technically five bidders were successful in bidding in the financial tender. Among them, Ramgarh Minerals and Mining Limited Karnataka, Hirakund Natural Resources Limited Ahmedabad, Jindal Power Limited Chhattisgarh, Hindustan Zinc Limited Udaipur and Syed Owaisi Ali Ratlam participated in the financial tender. He informed that Syed Owaisi Ali Ratlam has won this auction with the highest premium of 65.30 percent.
Mine Secretary Anandi informed that there are huge reserves of gold in the area of Bhukia-Jagpura in Ghatol tehsil of Banswara. During the exploration being done by the geologists of the Geological Survey of India for the search of copper in this area, signs of gold ore were seen here for the first time. After extensive exploration in this area, an initial estimate of 113.52 million tonnes of gold ore has been made in an area of 940.26 hectares, in which the quantity of gold metal has been estimated to be 222.39 tonnes. During the mining of gold ore here, co-minerals will also be found.
Director Mines Bhagwati Prasad Kalal said that after getting indications of gold ore during the initial exploration in Kankaria-Gara of Banswara Ghatol, e-auction has been done for composite license for further exploration here. 1.24 million tonnes of gold ore is possible in 205 hectares area in Kankaria-Jara. Five participants have also participated for Kankaria-Jara mines, on which the final decision is to be taken after necessary tests.
