Chief Minister listens to villagers' concerns, announces new initiatives
Gandhinagar : In an effort to provide detailed information on government schemes and address villagers' concerns, a night meeting-gram sabha was held in Vadgamada, Banaskantha district, on Thursday. The event was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Patel expressed his commitment to resolving the complaints and issues of farmers, village leaders, women, and youth through public dialogue. On his two-day visit to Banaskantha district, Patel interacted directly with locals at Shri Vadgamada Pay-Kendra Shala.
Beneficiaries of various government schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Educational Assistance, and Agricultural Assistance, shared their experiences with the Chief Minister. Patel addressed numerous issues, including land re-survey, water supply, road infrastructure, canals, education, and land allocation for a village cremation ground, offering positive responses for resolution.
Interacting with villagers in his unique style, Patel encouraged them to voice their problems, difficulties, and needs. He emphasized that resolving public complaints makes Gram Sabhas and public dialogues meaningful. Patel also urged villagers to maintain quality in all development works and stressed the importance of educating daughters, highlighting the 'Namo Lakshmi' and 'Namo Saraswati' schemes.
Patel also called for the village to be equipped with solar energy to protect the environment and save electricity. Additionally, he gifted a new tubewell to the villagers.
Assembly Speaker Shankarbhai Chaudhary praised the state government for its contributions to Banaskantha district, including Rs 1400 crore for addressing water issues, particularly in Tharad tehsil. The event saw the presence of former MP Parbatbhai Patel, District President Kirtisinh Vaghela, District Collector Varun Kumar Barnwal, District Development Officer MJ Dave, Superintendent of Police Akshayraj Makwana, and a large number of villagers.
