PM Modi Leads International Day of Celebration in Srinagar
Delhi, 21 June (H.S): On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the International Day of Yoga celebrations in Srinagar, emphasizing the global significance of yoga as a force for good. Speaking from the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre, PM Modi highlighted how more and more people around the world are embracing yoga as a means to live in the present moment without being weighed down by the past.
Despite the event being moved indoors due to heavy rain, the enthusiasm for yoga remained high. The Prime Minister extended his greetings to those participating in yoga activities across the globe and recalled how he proposed the initiative to the United Nations in 2014, garnering support from 177 nations. As International Yoga Day celebrated its 10th anniversary, PM Modi noted that it continues to set new records and has gained global prominence. He also spoke about the growing number of people practicing yoga worldwide, attributing it to the discipline's ability to promote inner peace and bring about positive societal change.
The Prime Minister stressed that when individuals are at peace within themselves, they can make a positive impact on the world around them. He concluded by stating that yoga is not only beneficial for individuals but also has the power to create new ways for positive change in society.
