Hockey India Announces Core Group for National Coaching Camp

Bengaluru — Hockey India on Thursday unveiled a 27-member core probable group for the Senior Men's National Coaching Camp, set to commence on June 21 at the SAI Center in Bengaluru. The camp will continue until July 8, serving as a crucial phase in the team's preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

"This camp is important as the Indian team will try to further improve its preparations ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics," Hockey India stated. The Indian men's team, placed in Pool B alongside Belgium, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, and Ireland, will begin their Olympic campaign against New Zealand on July 27.

Returning to the camp after a successful stint in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023/24, where they currently hold the fourth position with 24 points from 16 matches, the team aims to build on their performance.

Chief coach Craig Fulton emphasized the camp's significance: "We want to start a crucial block of training in this camp, and we need to ensure that we are in the best form ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics. The players have learned a lot from their matches in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023/24, helping us identify areas for improvement. We have ample time to work on these areas. Our squad has a strong mix of players capable of achieving great success."

The 27-member core group for the national training camp includes:

Krishan Bahadur Pathak, PR Sreejesh, Suraj Karkera, Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Aamir Ali, Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Sumit, Shamsher Singh, Neelkant Sharma, Rajkumar Pal, Vishnukant Singh, Akashdeep Singh, Mohd Raheel Mousin, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Abhishek, Dilpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Gurjant Singh, Bobby Singh Dhami, and Arijit Singh Hundal.
