Massive Crackdown on Junior Clerk Exam Paper Leak in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: In a sweeping crackdown on the junior clerk exam paper leak scandal, 30 students have been arrested for purchasing leaked papers from the accused individuals. Gujarat's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has apprehended more than 25 individuals involved in the leak so far, while investigations are ongoing.

With around 10 lakh students expected to appear in the Junior Clerk exam on April 9, the authorities have been relentless in pursuing the culprits. In a recent raid on the office of Stackwise Technologies in Vadodara, owned by main accused Bhaskar Chowdhary, police recovered blank cheques, original certificates, and other documents related to the Junior Clerk exam scheduled for January 29, 2023.

The arrested students confessed that they were to receive details of the exam questions the night before the examination at Stackwise Technologies' Vadodara office. In exchange, they agreed to pay between Rs 12 to 15 lakh to the paper leak accused. The police are still working to apprehend the remaining examinees involved in the scandal.

The Gujarat ATS team has been highly active in addressing the junior clerk exam paper leak case, arresting all the accused one by one. In total, more than 25 accused individuals have been apprehended so far.

Hasmukh Patel, commenting on the issue of the Junior Clerk exam, said that training had been provided to the staff involved in the exam and that the Prevention of Malpractices Act had been implemented. Strict action will be taken against violators, with punishments ranging from 5 to 10 years. The new law also includes provisions for fines of up to Rs 10 crore. Patel warned potential wrongdoers that if caught, they would face lifelong consequences in addition to penalties from the government exam.
