Gujarat Minister Bhikhusingh Parmar suffers brain stroke

Ahmedabad, June 19 (HS): Gujarat government's Minister of State for Civil Supplies Bhikhusingh Parmar was admitted to UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad on Wednesday after his health deteriorated. His blood pressure increased during tea and breakfast in the morning at his residence in Gandhinagar. Preliminary information has been received that Bhikhusingh has suffered a brain stroke. In political life, 70-year-old Parmar has traveled a long and struggle-filled life from Sarpanch to Minister in the state government.

Bhikhusingh Parmar contested elections 5 times from 1995 to 2022 to become an MLA. In this, he was defeated 4 times and finally won the election on BJP ticket in the year 2022 and became a Minister of State in the Bhupendra Patel government. He contested the assembly elections for the first time in the year 1995. Later he contested as an independent in the year 2002. He lost this election too. After this, he contested on BSP ticket in the year 2007, but this time too he lost the election. In the year 2017, he contested on BJP ticket, but this time too he had to face defeat by 1640 votes.

In the year 2022, BJP again gave him ticket. This time he became MLA for the first time by winning the election from Modasa seat. Before contesting the MLA election, he was successful in winning the Sarpanch election in the year 1978. During this time, to support the family, he used to work as a helper in Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. His job was to clean the buses.
