Air India to launch premium economy class on select domestic routes from July

New Delhi, June 19 (HS): Tata Group-led Air India is going to launch premium economy class on select domestic routes from next month. Air India will be the second Indian airline company to provide this class. Currently, only Vistara provides premium economy travel class on domestic routes.

Air India said in a statement issued on 'X' post on Wednesday that it has divided its first two refitted new A-320 Neo aircraft into three categories. These include eight seats in business class and 24 seats with extra legroom in premium economy. 132 economy class seats will also be available in it. The company said that enjoy this facility of business class on our select domestic and short-haul international flights.

Air India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) Campbell Wilson said that offering three classes of business class in the small size aircraft fleet is an important step to improve the travel experience. This is the first time the airline has introduced a premium economy cabin on its narrowbody aircraft.
