Cong Party's 'Matka Phod' Protest to Address Delhi's Water Crisis

Delhi, 15 June (H.S): The water crisis in Delhi has reached an alarming level, and the Congress party is taking a stand by holding a 'matka phod' protest today. Party chief Devender Yadav announced this protest to highlight the severe water shortage in the city, which has left residents, including vulnerable groups like women, children, and the elderly, struggling to access basic water supplies. The party has criticized the Delhi government for its inadequate measures to address the crisis and claimed that 58% of potable water is being wasted due to mismanagement.

This protest will see participation from thousands of Congress workers and local residents from all 280 blocks of Delhi. Atishi, Delhi's Water Minister, has also spoken about the declining water production, attributing it to the reduced water flow in the Yamuna river and blaming BJP-ruled Haryana for not releasing Delhi's share of water. With this protest, the Congress party hopes to draw attention to the severity of the water crisis and put pressure on the government to take immediate action to address it.
