New Delhi, June 10 (HS): President Droupadi Murmu hosted dinner for the leaders of neighbouring countries who came to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. This information was given in an official statement on the eve of Rashtrapati Bhavan. On this occasion, President Murmu also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his third term.

After the victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 18th Lok Sabha elections, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. President Murmu administered the oath of office and secrecy to him in a grand ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan here. With this, Modi equaled the record of the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru of becoming Prime Minister three times in a row.

An official statement issued from Rashtrapati Bhavan at night said, "The leaders who attended the dinner include Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu, Seychelles Vice President Ahmed Afif, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagannath and his wife Kobita Jagannath, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay." The statement said that while welcoming the foreign guests, President Murmu thanked everyone for accepting the invitation to the swearing-in ceremony of the new government.
