Five of same family drown in Ghaghra River, four died
Lakhimpur Kheri, 10 June (HS): Five members of the same family drowned in the Ghaghra river located in Padhua police station area of Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning. Four people, including a 12-year-old child, died in the accident, while the condition of a girl is critical. She has been admitted to the district hospital. Village Bokriha resident Pacho Devi (50), Subodh's daughter Tia (17), Nirmal's son Kanha (12), daughter Naini and Satyam (26) had come to Teliar to their relatives residence. On Monday morning everyone was bathing in the Ghaghra river.
While taking bath, they also started making reels with their mobile. Then Kanha started drowning in deep water and everyone drowned in the attempt to save him. Hearing the screams, people nearby gathered and took everyone out. Victims were hurriedly brought to Ramiyabehadh CHC, where Pacho Devi, Tia, Kanha and Satyam were declared dead. Naini's condition was declared critical, she was sent to the district hospital. When the family members and relatives of the deceased arrived, there was crying and wailing after seeing the dead bodies. Police have started investigating the case by sending the bodies for post-mortem.
