JEE-Advanced results declared, Ved Lahoti leads

New Delhi, 9 June (HS): The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Advanced results were declared on Sunday, with Ved Lahoti from the IIT Delhi zone taking first place with 355 out of 360 points.

According to IIT Madras, which held the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Advanced this year, Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel from IIT Bombay zone is the best female applicant with 332 marks. Her all-India rank is 7. Four of the top ten rank-holders are from IIT Madras. Aditya (Delhi zone) finished second, followed by Bhogalpalli Sandesh (Madras zone) in third place.

Rhythm Kedia (IIT Roorkee zone), Putti Kushal Kumar (IIT Madras), Rajdeep Mishra (IIT Bombay zone), Koduri Tejeswar (IIT Madras zone), Dhruvi Hemant Doshi (IIT Bombay zone), and Alladabona SSDB Sidhvik Suhas (IIT Madras zone) received the following rankings in that order.

The IIT Madras zone has the most qualified candidates, followed by IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay. Of the top 500 applicants, 145 are from IIT Madras, 136 from IIT Bombay, and 122 from IIT Delhi.

Seven international applicants qualified for the test, while 179 Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) also passed. A top IIT Madras official explained the criterion for inclusion in the rank list, stating that the aggregate scores will be determined as the total of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. To be included on a rank list, candidates must meet subject-specific and aggregate qualifying marks.

A total of 1,80,200 applicants took part in both IIT-JEE Advanced examinations, with 48,248 qualifying, including 7964 female candidates. JEE-Main, the national engineering college entrance test, serves as the qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced. The examination was held on May 26. Joint Seat Allocation (JoSAA) counselling will commence on Monday.
