Modi calls LS election results grand victory of NDA

New Delhi, June 7 (HS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called the Lok Sabha election results a grand victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

He said that if "we look at the numbers in the history of the alliance", then this is the strongest coalition government. The NDA is not a group of parties that have come together for power, it is an organized coalition committed to the principle of 'Nation First'.

Narendra Modi was addressing the meeting held in the old Parliament House after being elected the leader of the NDA Parliamentary Party.

Emphasizing on faith in life, he said that you chose me as your leader in 2019 and today, even in 2024, standing here as your elected leader, I feel that the 'bridge of trust' between us has been very strong. Modi thanked all the colleagues for being elected the leader of the NDA. Along with congratulating the newly elected MPs, he saluted the hard work of the party workers.

The Prime Minister said that consensus is very important to run the country. He said that see the power of such a great democracy of India that today people have given the NDA a chance to serve them by forming government in 22 states of the country. This alliance of ours is the soul of India in the true sense. We are committed to the principle of 'Sarva Dharma Sambhaav' (all religions are equal).

Taking the opposition to task, Modi said that the opposition tried to present the 2024 Lok Sabha results as a defeat for us but we have never lost, have never lost and will never lose. He said that Congress could not touch the figure of 100 even after 10 years. Their total seats in the last 3 Lok Sabha elections are less than the number of our seats in this election alone. He said that our conduct after June 4 shows that we know how to digest victory. Modi said that there was an NDA government earlier, there is still and will remain in future too. He said that in the next 10 years, the NDA government will focus on good governance, development and minimum interference in the lives of common citizens.

Taking a dig at those who questioned EVMs, Modi said that the strength of India's democracy is that the results have silenced those who questioned EVMs and the Election Commission. He said that I strongly feel that when people of the Indi alliance question technological advancements like EVMs and Aadhaar, they are people of the last century.
