Contractor Accused of Attempted Rape in Ahmedabad
Victim, a Laborer from Rajasthan, Files Complaint at Chandkheda Police Station
Ahmedabad - A disturbing incident has come to light involving the attempted rape of a young woman who had come to Ahmedabad from Rajasthan to work as a laborer alongside her brothers. According to the complaint filed at Chandkheda police station, a contractor is accused of trying to sexually assault the woman while she was working.
The woman and her brothers were seeking employment near Janatanagar Kadianaka when contractor Umesh Parmar approached them, offering work near New CG Road, Chandkheda. The job involved pipe work at a construction site. While the woman was working, Umesh Parmar claimed he needed to go and buy cement.
As per the woman's statement, she was taken to a bathroom near the society's garden. There, Umesh Parmar allegedly took advantage of her vulnerability, forcibly dragged her into the bathroom, and molested her by touching her chest and kissing her cheek. He then threatened to kill her if she didn't comply and attempted to remove her clothes forcefully. The woman's brother arrived at the scene after hearing her screams, prompting Umesh to flee the location by pushing the door open.
The terrified woman returned home with her brothers and later filed a complaint against Umesh Parmar at the police station. The police are currently conducting further investigations into the case.
