Surat - Another heartbreaking case of a newborn child being abandoned has emerged in Surat, with the body of a deceased infant found in the Varachha area. The newborn was discovered in a municipal toilet near Ambawadi Pati Chawl in Varachha. Authorities have reported the incident to the police, who have filed a case against the unknown mother and are currently investigating.

Cases of abandoned newborns in Surat have been on the rise, with heartless parents leaving their infants to fend for themselves. This recent case involves a pay-and-use toilet located near the Ambawadi Pati Chaal slum. The lifeless body of the newborn was discovered in the women's toilet, causing a stir among locals.

The public toilet is managed by 50-year-old Badrishah Ayodhya Prasad Shah, who works at the counter. Shakal Bhathukumar Sahani, a worker responsible for cleaning the toilet, made the grim discovery while cleaning the women's restroom. Upon finding something obstructing the toilet, he called for assistance from Badrishah, who was stationed at the counter. Together, they pulled the deceased newborn from the toilet.

Following the discovery of the dead infant, authorities were alerted, and a team from the Varachha police arrived on the scene. The newborn girl's body was transported to Smeer Hospital for further examination.

Investigators believe that an unknown woman left the deceased newborn in the women's restroom. Based on the complaint filed by Badri Shah, who manages the toilet counter, Varachha police have registered a case of child abandonment.
