Surat : SOG Police Arrest Fourth Accused and Seize Fake Notes Worth ₹2.90 Lakh

Surat : The SOG police have busted a counterfeit currency printing operation disguised as the office of a local news channel in Surat's Limbayat area. This discovery follows the earlier arrest of three individuals involved in the racket.

The latest arrest in the case is Sadiq Ali, also known as Patta Abbas Ali Shahpor Pathan. He was apprehended near Salabatpura Umarwada Gujarati School. During a subsequent raid at his residence, the police recovered fake currency notes worth ₹2.90 lakh hidden in a scarf within a drawer.

Accused Land Broker Arrested:

According to the police, the main accused, Firoz, had distributed the counterfeit money to Sadiq Ali, a land broker from Salabatpura.

Initial Bust on 21 May:

On 21 May, acting on a tip-off, Surat SOG and PCB police conducted a raid that led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of fake notes worth over ₹9.36 lakh.

Four Arrests and Seizures:

To date, police have arrested four suspects and confiscated fake notes totaling ₹12,26,900.

Ongoing Investigation:

A case has been registered against all the accused, and further investigation is underway to uncover more details and possible connections to other counterfeit operations.
