Gujarat : Protest Erupts Following Fatal Accident in Himmatnagar Gamdi Village
Sabarkantha : A road accident near Himmatnagar Gamdi village in Sabarkantha district on Friday morning led to the death of a villager en route to fill milk. In response, angry villagers blocked National Highway No. 48, causing a significant traffic jam that lasted about one and a half hours.
During the protest, villagers pelted stones at the police and set a police vehicle on fire. Additional police forces were dispatched to the scene, where they fired over 120 tear gas shells to control the situation and restore traffic. Vehicles traveling from Ahmedabad to Udaipur were rerouted via alternative routes to avoid the blocked highway.
Sabarkantha Superintendent of Police Vijay Patel confirmed that an FIR would be registered, and legal action would be taken against those involved in the disturbance.
