Nadiad — Undeterred by the ongoing heatwave in Gujarat, thousands of devotees converged in Dakor on Thursday to celebrate Vaishakh Purnima. Braving temperatures soaring to 43 degrees Celsius, the faithful flocked to the Ranchhod Rai temple to offer their prayers and express their devotion.

The famous pilgrimage site in Kheda district witnessed a steady influx of worshippers from early morning. Devotees filled the temple premises and surrounding roads, creating a lively atmosphere despite the oppressive heat. In response, the administration and the temple trust implemented various measures to ensure the safety and comfort of the visitors. Green net shades were set up to provide relief from the sun, and four health department teams were stationed at the temple to offer medical assistance. Additionally, the 108 emergency ambulance service was on standby.

To keep the devotees hydrated, ample water supplies were arranged within the temple grounds. Five water ATM machines were installed, and various service-oriented organizations distributed soft drinks and sherbet.

The festivities began at dawn with thousands of devotees chanting "Jai Ranchhod Makhan Chor," filling the air with devotional fervor. The Mangala Aarti was performed at 5:14 AM, followed by continuous darshan until 8 AM. Subsequently, Baal Bhog, Shringar Bhog, and Gwal Bhog were offered to Thakorji at 8:30 AM.

Despite the intense heat, the spirit of the devotees remained unshaken. The streets of Dakor, which had been relatively quiet due to the scorching temperatures in recent days, came alive with the arrival of Vaishakh Purnima, demonstrating the unwavering faith and dedication of the pilgrims.
