Vibhav Kumar arrested in case of assault on Swati Maliwal
Delhi, May 18 (HS): Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal secretary Vibhav Kumar was arrested by Delhi Police on Saturday in connection with the assault on Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal. After arresting Vibhav, the police took him to Civil Lines police station.
Vibhav Kumar's lawyer Karan Sharma said that no information has been received from the police yet. We have sent them an e-mail that we will cooperate in the investigation.
The medical report has confirmed that Swati Maliwal has been injured. His medical report has come out in this regard. Injuries were found on the right cheek and left leg.
A CCTV footage has surfaced in the case of assault that took place at the Chief Minister's residence on May 13. In the footage, security personnel are seen taking Swati out of the Chief Minister's residence. After releasing this footage, Aam Aadmi Party has again raised questions on Swati Maliwal's statements.
Now the party says that in reality BJP's Anti Corruption Bureau has registered a case against Swati Maliwal for illegal recruitment of contractual employees in DCW. Swati has done this due to fear of action in the case. Meanwhile, in another development, MP Raghav Chadha today reached Chief Minister Kejriwal to meet him at his Civil Line residence.
