Bhopal Woman Murdered in Manali, Accused Arrested
Bhopal (HS) — A shocking murder case has emerged in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, involving a young woman from Bhopal. The accused, Vinod Thakur from Palwal, Haryana, was caught trying to transport the body in a trolley bag, raising hotel staff's suspicions and leading to his arrest.
Incident Unfolds in Manali
The victim, 26-year-old Sheetal Kaushal from Ajay Nagar, Shahpura, Bhopal, had known the accused for about four years. They traveled to Manali for a vacation four days ago. On Wednesday night, Thakur allegedly murdered Sheetal, placed her body in a suitcase, and attempted to leave the hotel with it. He called a taxi, but when the bag proved too heavy for two people to lift easily, the hotel staff grew suspicious and alerted the police. Thakur fled but was arrested in Kullu.
Family's Tragic Loss
Sheetal's father, Kailash Kaushal, a driver, shared that she had completed her B.Com and was working at a private company in MP Nagar. She was the only daughter and had a younger brother. On May 5, she left home with Rs 10,000 and her mobile phone without informing anyone. The family had reported her disappearance to the police.
Police and Family Actions
Following the incident, the police informed Sheetal's family. Her two brothers left for Manali on Thursday to retrieve her body. The investigation is ongoing as authorities piece together the details of this tragic event.
