Surat's 'Jal Parb': Relief Efforts Amid Scorching Heat

As Gujarat, including Surat, battles intense heat and instances of fire raining from the sky, a beacon of hope has emerged in the form of 'Jal Parb', a noble initiative by the 'Hope Charitable Trust'. The Trust, in collaboration with Surat's residents, police, and TRB personnel, has launched a unique service to aid those struggling under the scorching sun.

The initiative aims to provide relief to children in slum areas and lorry drivers by distributing sugarcane and mango juice. Children, who are particularly vulnerable to heat-related illnesses, are being offered these refreshing drinks to keep them cool and hydrated. Lorry drivers, who lack adequate facilities, are receiving large umbrellas to shield them from the blazing sun while on the road.

Jignesh Gandhi, President of the Hope Charitable Trust, emphasized the importance of supporting police and TRB personnel who are tirelessly working in the heat. He stated, "Even in the scorching heat, police personnel and traffic brigades are forced to be on duty at all the traffic points of the city. In such a situation, sugarcane juice is distributed to all these traffic personnel."

The Trust has committed to continuing its efforts by visiting different slum areas and distributing juice to children and the needy. Additionally, they are exploring further ways to assist the underprivileged and those serving the city during the summer.

This initiative has brought significant relief to the people of Surat amid the relentless heatwave. The community has praised the 'Hope Charitable Trust' for its exceptional social service, recognizing its positive impact on the city's residents.
