Meteorological Department Predicts Relief from Scorching Heat
Ahmedabad - Gujarat is set to experience a significant shift in weather patterns, offering respite to residents from the sweltering heat that has persisted over the past several days. The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall across the state for the next seven days, attributed to a Western Disturbance. During this period, wind speeds are expected to reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.
In Ahmedabad, a thunderstorm is predicted on May 14, followed by rain accompanied by lightning and thunder on May 15. Meteorological Department scientist Ramashray Yadav stated that temperatures are likely to decrease over the next five days, providing relief to the populace.
According to the Meteorological Department's predictions, rain is expected in various districts on specific dates. On May 12, rainfall is expected in Valsad, Navsari, Dangs, Surat, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman, Chhota Udepur, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Mahisagar, Dahod, and Anand. The following day, May 13, Central and South Gujarat, along with some districts of North Gujarat, are likely to experience rain. Heavy rainfall is forecasted in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Anand, Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Bharuch, Chhota Udepur, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dadranagar Haveli, and Narmada on this day.
On May 14, rain is expected in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Ahmedabad, Narmada, Bharuch, and Mahisagar, with the possibility of heavy rain in Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, and Panchmahal. May 15 may bring rain to Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Dahod, Gir Somnath, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.
The current maximum temperature in Saurashtra-Kutch, including Ahmedabad, has been hovering around 42 to 43 degrees Celsius. Even on Saturday, temperatures in many cities were reported at around 43 degrees Celsius, with Gandhinagar recording 42 degrees. However, with the anticipated weather change, temperatures are expected to drop, providing much-needed relief to residents.
