Tragic Accident: Six Family Members Killed as Car Overturns

Sehore : A tragic incident unfolded near Salkanpur in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh as a Tavera car lost control and overturned after colliding with a boundary wall at Bhairav Valley. The car was carrying 12 occupants, all residents of Bhopal, who had visited Devi Dham in Salkanpur for a religious ceremony.

According to Rahti police station in-charge Rajesh Sahare, the accident occurred around 6:30 pm on Friday evening. The occupants, residents of Choukse Nagar in DIG Bungalow area of Bhopal, were returning from the Mundan Sanskar ceremony of their son. The car, allegedly speeding, hit the boundary wall at Bhairav Ghat, leading to the tragic overturn.

Out of the 12 occupants, two died on the spot, while 10 sustained injuries and were rushed to the local community health center. Unfortunately, one person succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital, and three others, who were critically injured, passed away late in the night during treatment.

Bharat Pandey, one of the injured, recounted that the family had traveled to Salkanpur for the Mundan ceremony of his three-month-old nephew. The group included three children.

Budhni SDOP Shashank Gurjar stated that the car lost control on Bhairav Valley while returning from Bijasan Mata temple, leading to the collision with the boundary wall. Passersby alerted the police, who promptly arrived and transported the injured to the hospital. Among the deceased were Rajendra Prasad Pandey (70), Sharda Prasad Pandey (72), and Lakshmi Narayan.

The injured, including Mohit Pandey, Shikha Tiwari Pandey, Jyoti Vajpayee, Monica Pandey, Gayatri Pandey, and three-month-old Om Pandey, continue to receive medical treatment.
