Chief Minister Inaugurates Model United Nations 2.0 Conference at Nirma University
Prime Minister Modi aims to turn youth into 'New Age Power' rather than just 'New Age Voters'
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus on transforming youth from "new age voters" into "new age power" during the inauguration of a two-day conference on "Model United Nations 2.0" at the Institute of Law of Nirma University in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Patel highlighted the government's commitment to providing platforms for youth to develop their talents, citing the recent organization of a 'Youth Assembly' by the Gujarat government.
According to Patel, India is experiencing a golden era of foreign policy under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, with the country's role and position on global forums strengthening. The United Nations (UN) now celebrates World Yoga Day, and the year 2023 is being recognized as Millets Year due to the Prime Minister's initiatives. The Chief Minister noted that even the world's superpowers now view India's approach as significant.
Under Modi's visionary leadership, India presides over the G20, an organization comprising the world's most powerful countries. Patel expressed pride that Gujarat, a policy-driven state, has the opportunity to host approximately 15 G20 meetings.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that the young generation's perspective on politics and global trends has shifted over the past nine years. He expressed hope that the conference would serve as an effective platform to help young people become better equipped and aligned with current global trends, ultimately acting as a catalyst for building a more advanced India.
In attendance at the inauguration ceremony were Nirma University founder Karsanbhai Patel, Vice President K.K. Patel, Director General Anup Singh, Head of the Institute of Law Prof. Dr. Madhuri Parikh, faculty members, and numerous students.
