A delegation from SGCCI led by Ramesh Vaghasia met J&K Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha to discuss economic growth and investment prospects. The mission aims to boost exports and explore business opportunities in J&K.

A delegation from the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) recently met with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to discuss efforts aimed at bolstering India's economic prowess and to explore business development and investment opportunities in the Union Territory.

Led by Chamber President Ramesh Vaghasia, the delegation visited Jammu and Kashmir as part of the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84, which seeks to provide additional business opportunities to entrepreneurs. The delegation included minister and elected vice president Nikhil Madrasi, treasurer Kiran Thummar, Mission 84 coordinator Sanjay Punjabi, and member Arvind Babawala.

The objectives of Mission 84 are twofold: to achieve an additional export target of Rs 84,000 crore from Surat, Gujarat, and India, and to explore business development and investment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, several key discussions were held:

  1. The new economic policy in Jammu and Kashmir and potential trade and investment opportunities post the removal of Article 370.
  2. Facilities, new policies, systems, subsidies, and incentives provided to industries by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
  3. Investment opportunities in various industrial estates, industrial parks, and industrial estates in Jammu and Kashmir.
  4. Creating a conducive environment to attract businessmen from Surat to invest in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting highlighted the favorable environment for investment in Jammu and Kashmir, citing low crime rates, numerous facilities, incentives provided by the government, and the new economic policy promoting investment in various sectors.

The SGCCI aims to promote trade and investment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir, strengthen trade relations between Surat and Jammu and Kashmir, and contribute to making India an economic superpower. This meeting signifies an important step towards opening up new trade and investment possibilities in Jammu and Kashmir, strengthening trade relations, and contributing to India's development.
