Piyush Chawla Becomes IPL's Second Highest Wicket-Taker

Mumbai Indians' seasoned spinner Piyush Chawla has climbed to second place in the list of highest wicket-takers in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. He achieved this milestone during Mumbai Indians' match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium.

Chawla's crucial wicket of Rinku Singh on the first ball after the powerplay propelled him past Dwayne Bravo to claim the second-highest spot with 184 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal of Rajasthan Royals leads the chart with 200 wickets.

Former Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians fast bowler Dwayne Bravo now occupies third place with 123 wickets, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad's Bhuvneshwar Kumar in fourth with 178 wickets.

In the match, Chawla bowled a tidy spell, taking 1 wicket for 15 runs in 3 overs. Kolkata Knight Riders, batting first, posted a total of 169 runs, with Venkatesh Iyer and Manish Pandey contributing significantly with an 83-run partnership.

In response, Mumbai Indians fell short, getting all out for 145 runs in 18.5 overs, handing KKR a 24-run victory. Mitchell Starc starred for KKR with 4 wickets for 33 runs in 3.5 overs. Suryakumar Yadav's valiant half-century of 56 runs was the standout performance for Mumbai.
