Two Arrested for Editing and Viral Video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah

The Cyber Crime Branch in Ahmedabad arrested two individuals on Tuesday for editing and disseminating a video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's public meeting, causing it to go viral. One of the accused is the personal assistant of a Congress MLA, while the other is a worker for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Police are currently interrogating both suspects.

The edited video, which falsely portrayed statements regarding reservation made by Amit Shah during public meetings in Palanpur and Limkheda, was circulated widely, prompting a complaint. The arrested individuals, Satish Vansola and RB Baria, were identified in connection with the incident. Satish Vansola is the personal assistant to Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani, while RB Baria is associated with the AAP.

Lavina Sinha, from DCB Cyber Crime, stated that the Ahmedabad City Police and Cyber Crime Branch have a social media monitoring cell, which tracks social media activities. The edited video of the Home Minister's speech was circulated on Facebook by Satish Vansola and RB Baria. The Cyber Crime Branch registered an FIR on April 29 under various sections, including 153 A, 171 G, 469, and 505 (2).

Satish Vansola is reported to be from Palanpur, while RB Baria hails from Limkheda in Dahod. The phones of both accused individuals will be seized and sent for forensic examination.
