Surat Textile Industry Enforces Strict Payment Recovery Measures; Associations Rally for Timely Dues

Surat's textile sector faces economic strains, prompting strict action for payment recovery. Organizations like FOGWA advocate for 30-35 day payment cycles, while the Adhatiya Association bans a UP businessman for delayed payments.

Surat's textile industry, a vital economic pillar, faces a challenging period marked by economic slowdown and payment irregularities. The Federation of Gujarat Weavers Welfare Association (FOGWA) has urged its members to adhere to the traditional practice of settling dues within 30-35 days. This move aims to ensure the industry's financial health amid adverse market conditions.

FOGWA's Chief, Ashok Jeerawala, emphasized the importance of maintaining unity among members to sustain the payment cycle.

Meanwhile, the Adhatiya Association, Surat, is actively pursuing delayed payments from its members, contacting late-paying businesses and encouraging them to settle their debts promptly.

In a notable development, the association has barred a businessman from Uttar Pradesh from conducting business with Surat traders due to his failure to pay dues for three to four years. The association has disseminated information about this decision on social media and messaging platforms to prevent new dealings with the defaulter until the outstanding payments are cleared. Despite attempts by the UP businessman to pressure the organization through complaints to the UP Police, the association remains steadfast in its stance, prioritizing the interests of Surat's textile traders.
