Stray Dog Menace Causes Another Fatality in Rajkot

Rajkot - Stray dogs are causing increasing concern in Rajkot city and district, with another fatality reported after a dog chased a bike carrying a father and son. Mavjibhai Sathalia, a 50-year-old native of Sanosara village, was riding with his son from Vasawad village in Amreli towards Dadwana road when a stray dog began pursuing their bike, causing it to slip and crash. Both father and son sustained injuries in the accident, with Mavjibhai's injuries proving to be fatal.

Mavjibhai was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Rajkot city, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His son, Savish, sustained minor injuries. The father and son had been visiting a family event and were on their way back to Rajkot when the accident occurred. The Wadia police station of Amreli was informed by the Civil Hospital, and a case under Accidental Death has been registered.

This incident follows a recent tragedy in which a woman lost her life due to a stray dog on Kotharia Road in Rajkot. The dog pulled at the saree of the woman riding on a bike, causing her to fall and suffer serious injuries. She later died in the hospital. Additionally, on March 22, a pack of dogs attacked a 5-year-old child in the Bhestan area of Surat city, resulting in the child's tragic death.
