Virat Kohli Joins Exclusive Club with 500-Run Feat in IPL for 7th Time

Virat Kohli, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, has achieved a remarkable feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by becoming the first Indian player to score over 500 runs in seven IPL seasons. With this achievement, he joins Australia's David Warner in an exclusive club of batsmen who have achieved this milestone the most number of times.

In the recent match against Gujarat Titans, Virat Kohli displayed excellent form, scoring an unbeaten 70 runs off 44 balls, including six fours and three sixes, at a strike rate of 159.09. This innings helped him reach the 500-run mark for the current IPL season in just 10 innings, with an average of 71.42 and a strike rate of 147.49, making him the leading run-scorer of the season so far.

Virat's impressive IPL journey began in 2011 when he first crossed the 500-run mark and finished as the second-highest run-scorer with 557 runs. He achieved this feat again in 2023 and 2015, followed by a spectacular performance in 2016 when he scored a record-breaking 973 runs, including four centuries and seven half-centuries.

In the 2018 season, Virat scored 530 runs, followed by 639 runs in 2023. Overall, Virat Kohli holds the record for the highest run-scorer in IPL history, accumulating 7,763 runs in 247 matches and 239 innings, with an average of 38.43 and a strike rate of 131.02, including eight centuries and 54 half-centuries.

Virat's consistent performance and leadership have made him one of the most successful players in IPL history, and his recent achievement further solidifies his position as one of the greatest batsmen in the tournament's history.
