More Than 20 Injured, 9 Critical in Kathia Village Accident

A tragic road accident near Kathia village, Chhattisgarh, claimed nine lives and left over 20 injured. A speeding pickup collided with a parked mini truck, resulting in fatalities, including women and children. The injured have been rushed to Raipur AIIMS, with four in critical condition.

Raipur : Late Sunday night, a speeding pickup collided with a mini truck parked near Kathia village, 18 km from Bemetara in Chhattisgarh, resulting in a devastating accident. The collision claimed the lives of nine individuals, including five women and three children. Additionally, more than 20 people sustained injuries, with the condition of four reported as critical.

The accident occurred when more than 30 individuals from Patharra village were returning in the pickup after attending a Chhathi program in Tiravaiya village, located 8 kilometers away. After the event, while returning home, the pickup lost control and collided with the parked mini truck, leading to a fatal outcome. The impact was severe, causing the pickup to be completely damaged.

Authorities identified the deceased as Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushboo Sahu (39), along with three children, Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6), and Twinkle Nishad (6).

Upon receiving information about the accident, Bemetara Collector and Superintendent of Police immediately reached the spot, overseeing the transfer of injured individuals to the Bemetara district hospital. MLA Deepesh Sahu also visited the hospital, extending his support to the injured and inquiring about their well-being.
