IPL Ticket Prices Soar: Fans Upset

Cricket fans were shocked by the steep increase in ticket prices for the upcoming Punjab vs. Chennai IPL match in Dharamshala, ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. Despite a 30% increase, fans are struggling to secure tickets online, facing long queues and technical issues.

Dharamshala: The upcoming Punjab vs. Chennai IPL match at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium has left cricket enthusiasts dismayed due to a substantial hike in ticket prices.

As per the agency report, the franchise has increased prices from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000, causing frustration among fans. Tickets for West Stand-2, previously priced at Rs 2,000, are now being sold for Rs 3,000, and Pavilion Terrace tickets, previously Rs 12,500, are now Rs 15,000. Despite the increase, fans are struggling to secure tickets.

Online queues on the Paytm app are leaving people frustrated. The franchise initially priced West Stand tickets at Rs 2,000, East Stand-2 at Rs 2,500, Pavilion Terrace at Rs 12,500, East Stand-3 at Rs 7,500, and North Pavilion Stand at Rs 3,000, which have all been increased.

HPCA General Secretary Avnish Parmar clarified that ticket sales are managed by the franchises, and prices are set accordingly. He stated that the franchise determines ticket prices based on demand, leading to the recent price hike.
