Election Commission Issues Notices to BJP and Congress Over Modi and Rahul's Statements

New Delhi, April 25 : The Election Commission has taken action on complaints alleging violations of the Model Code of Conduct by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Notices have been issued to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, emphasizing the responsibilities of star campaigners and their respective parties.

The Commission has directed BJP President JP Nadda and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to provide clarification on the statements made by their star campaigners by April 29. Copies of the complaints have also been forwarded to the parties. Additionally, the Commission has instructed both party presidents to ensure their star campaigners are briefed on the Model Code of Conduct.

Prime Minister Modi's statement in Banswara on April 21, where he allegedly mentioned giving the money earned by people to infiltrators, and Rahul Gandhi's remarks in Kottayam, Kerala, where he reportedly criticized the BJP's stance on "one country, one language, and one religion," have triggered the notices.
