A female tourist from Mumbai passed away on Wednesday night in Gulmarg, a scenic hill station located in the Baramulla district of Kashmir.
The deceased has been identified as 69-year-old Bhavna Subodh Thakar, a resident of Sarina Shanti Park in eastern Mumbai. Officials reported that Ms. Thakar suffered a fatal heart attack while staying at Hotel Alpine Ridge Gulmarg.
Her body has been transported to the Police Hospital in Srinagar for medico-legal formalities. Police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) and initiated standard proceedings.
