SITME 2024 Showcases Textile Innovation and Export Potential

The Surat International Textile & Machinery Expo (SITME 2024) kicked off on a grand note at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The three-day event, jointly organized by the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) and the Surat Embroidery Association (SEA), brings together leading players in the textile industry.

Dignitaries and Industry Leaders Gather

The inauguration ceremony boasted a distinguished guest list, including Girish Luthra, Chairman of Luthra Group LLP and CMSME, and Subhash Dhawan, President of Gokul Tax Print. S.P. Verma, Additional Textile Commissioner of the Government of India, officially inaugurated the expo alongside Ramesh Vaghasia, President of SGCCI, and Manohar Tekchandani, President of SEA.

Embroidery Takes Center Stage

This year's SITME features a staggering display of around 100 different embroidery machines. The event has attracted significant interest, with online registrations surpassing 20,000 buyers and visitors from across India. Notably, over 1,000 attendees will be traveling from outside Surat, highlighting the expo's national reach.

Driving Exports and Technological Advancement

The SGCCI has set an ambitious target of exporting Rs 84,000 crore worth of textiles from Surat, Gujarat, and India. This initiative aligns with the Government of India's push for technological innovation in textile machinery manufacturing. Digital printing, a rapidly growing segment within the Indian textile industry, is also a key focus at SITME 2024.

Surat: A Hub for Embroidery and Textile Exports

As a major center for embroidery machinery, Surat holds immense potential to become a global leader in textile exports. SITME 2024 serves as a crucial platform for fostering collaboration and innovation within the industry, ultimately propelling India towards a leadership position in textile machinery manufacturing and exports.
