Gujarat : Centenarian Voters Enthusiastically Prepare for Election Day in Palanpur

Palanpur, 04 April - As the great festival of democracy approaches, centenarian voters in Palanpur showcase unwavering enthusiasm to fulfill their duty despite age-related challenges. Recognizing their commitment, the District Election Commission has organized arrangements for these voters to cast their votes from the comfort of their homes, ensuring no voter is deprived of their right.

Bhikhiben, a revered resident of Chadotar village in Palanpur tehsil, reflects on her life experiences, stating, "I have seen many ups and downs in life. Since independence, I have voted in every election, starting from Gram Panchayat. I have never let my vote go to waste, and this time will be no different. Voting is a priceless opportunity available in a democracy, and it is the right of all citizens."

The third phase of voting is scheduled for May 7 across the entire state, with 25,51,601 voters in Banaskantha district expected to cast their votes. Among them are 460 centenarian voters, who, with the power of their votes, will serve as a source of inspiration for the youth. Deesa has the highest number of centenarian voters in the district, with 70, while Vadgam has the least, with 33.

To facilitate centenarian voters, the Election Commission has arranged for voting at their homes. The Booth Level Officer will seek the consent of the centenarian voter and set up a booth at their residence, allowing them to vote in the presence of an election officer and inspector.
