Surat's Green Army Apprehends Tree Leaves Cutters, Seeks Legal Action

Surat: Members of the Green Army, an environmental group dedicated to tree planting and conservation, caught individuals cutting down banyan trees  leaves for goat fodder. The tree leaves cutters were apprehended with a rickshaw full of tree branches and leaves and were handed over to the Sarthana police for further action.

The Green Army Group plants trees daily in different areas across Surat with the goal of making the city greener. On this particular day, the group was planting saplings on the canal road when some members left to fetch wooden poles for support. During this time, they spotted the tree leaves cutters in the Yogi Chowk area of Varachha, loading a rickshaw with the cut branches and leaves.

Tulsibhai, a member of the Green Army Group, explained that their fellow member, Mansukhbhai Foji, caught the tree leaves cutters in the act and exposed the entire operation. The Green Army nurtures the planted saplings as if they were their own children and works tirelessly to conserve them. The organization aims to educate children about the importance of trees and the environment from an early age.

Tulsibhai further emphasized that the tree leaves cutters are, in a sense, murderers, as the trees are considered the group's "children." The Green Army treats them like family members and will be demanding severe punishment for the individuals caught during this incident.
