Police Bust High-Profile Sex Racket in Surat, Models Rescued
Investigation Reveals Online Operation Catering to Wealthy Clients
Surat's Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) successfully raided a high-profile sex racket operating in the city. The operation, which involved models flown in from Mumbai, catered to wealthy clients through online channels.
Police received a tip-off regarding models from Mumbai being housed at The Park Celebration Hotel near Vesu VIP Road. The investigation revealed that two Surat-based brokers, Yuvraj (alias Rahul) and Javed, facilitated the racket. They allegedly sent photos of models to clients via WhatsApp, negotiated prices, and arranged travel for the women.
To dismantle the operation, AHTU deployed an undercover officer who contacted Yuvraj, posing as a potential client. This led the police to the hotel, where they found three additional models alongside the initial target. All four women, aged 18 to 22, were from Mumbai and reportedly aspired for careers in Bollywood or television.
While the rescued models have been released, authorities are searching for the absconding brokers. A case has been registered at Vesu Police Station.
The incident highlights the vulnerability of aspiring actors and models to exploitation within the glamour industry. It also underscores the prevalence of online sex trafficking networks targeting high-paying clientele.
