President Awards Bharat Ratna to Four Icons: PM Modi Hails Their Contributions
Narasimha Rao, Charan Singh, Karpoori Thakur, and Dr. Swaminathan Honored
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media today to express his elation over the Bharat Ratna awards conferred upon four prominent personalities by the President of India.
In a series of posts, PM Modi acknowledged the immense contributions made by former Prime Ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh, former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur, and agricultural scientist Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, who received the award posthumously.
PM Modi Praises Each Recipient's Legacy
Praising PV Narasimha Rao, PM Modi said on [platform where PM posted] that Rao Garu "worked extensively to advance the progress and modernization of the country." He commended Rao's reputation as a scholar and thinker, highlighting that his contributions "will always be remembered."
In another post, PM Modi paid tribute to Chaudhary Charan Singh. He stated, "Bharat Ratna is a tribute to Chaudhary Charan Singh ji for his incomparable contribution to the development of the country, especially agriculture and rural development."
For Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, PM Modi lauded his pioneering work in agriculture and food security. He wrote on [platform where PM posted], "His efforts propelled India from struggle to self-reliance in food production. The Bharat Ratna given to him should inspire more and more people to do research in agriculture and food security."
Finally, PM Modi recognized Karpoori Thakur's lifelong dedication to social justice and equality. He called Thakur the "messiah of the extremely backward section of the society" and highlighted his efforts for the upliftment of marginalized communities.
