Five Crushed to Death in Jhalawar After Dispute Over Sand Extraction

Jhalawar, March 24: Five men, including two brothers, were brutally killed in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan on Saturday night. The incident occurred after a fight broke out between two groups over sand extraction rights from a local river.

The deceased have been identified as Dheeraj Singh, Bharat Singh (brothers), Govardhan Singh, Toofan Singh, and Balu Singh. While the first four died on the spot, Balu Singh succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to reports, the fight erupted between the two parties at a dhaba near Pagaria. The argument escalated over the issue of extracting sand from the Ahu River. The victims then decided to file a police complaint but were chased down by the other party in a dumper and crushed to death.

"We have formed teams to nab the absconding accused," said Additional SP Chiranjilal. Police suspect that the accused have fled the state and have deployed teams in bordering Madhya Pradesh to apprehend them.
