Deadly Boiler Explosion in Jaipur Chemical Factory Claims Six Lives

Six laborers lost their lives in a horrific accident at a chemical factory in Jaipur on Saturday evening. The incident occurred in Shalimar Factory, located in the Bassi police station area, after a boiler explosion triggered a massive fire.

Reports indicate that the deafening explosion occurred around 6:30 pm, causing immediate panic. Five laborers were reportedly burnt alive, while two others sustained critical injuries and are undergoing treatment at Sawai Mansingh Hospital. Firefighters battled the blaze for hours, bringing it under control with the help of nine fire tenders.

The deceased have been identified as Hiramal Gurjar (30), Gokul Harijan (35), Krishna Gurjar (30), Manohar Gurjar (32), and Babulal Meena (42). The sixth victim, a resident of Mathura, remains unidentified as of now.

The tragedy has sparked outrage among the families and villagers of the deceased. They have refused to claim the bodies until their demands are met, including compensation, strict action against the factory owner, closure of the allegedly illegal factory, and a government job for one family member from each victim. Negotiations between police and administration officials are ongoing as of Sunday morning.

Jaipur Collector Prakash Rajpurohit has assured a thorough investigation into the accident and strict action against those found negligent, including the factory owner. It has come to light that the Shalimar Chemical Factory, located in a densely populated area, was reportedly operating without proper safety measures. The fire's intensity is attributed to the presence of chemicals used in road and building construction.

This incident raises serious concerns about industrial safety standards and the need for stricter regulations to prevent such tragedies.
